2020 Peace Promise Recap

We started the year off with a bang as our Executive Director Patty Seaman and President, Susan Vigliano were featured on “Good Day PA” on ABC 27 to speak about Human Trafficking Awareness Month.
In March, we were joined by advocate Kelly Master as the keynote speaker at our annual “For Love and Freedom” Benefit. Thank you to those who donated to the silent auction and our event sponsors.
In April, our community and generous donors came together for the “Drop of Hope” outreach and GT NOW where we provided care packages to the women whom we serve, many of whom were hit hard by COVID and the tightened restrictions.
In July, we held our first ever “Run for Freedom” virtual 5K and fun run.
In September, we held a COVID-safe outdoor fundraising event featuring products from Change Purse and Soaps by Survivors, both fundraising and economic empowerment arms of Peace Promise.
In October, Change Purse opened their first ever virtual store. Both Change Purse and Soaps by Survivors products are available for pick up or shipping. This has always been a dream of ours and it’s finally real. Look for online shopping to resume after the new year.
November is always a busy month for Peace Promise and this year was no different as we geared up for our annual Giving Tuesday fundraising event. This year’s event included drive-through
Change Purse and Soaps by Survivor sales and our Christmas Outreach to pack bags filled with goodies for our ladies donated by those in the community. Thank you for loving our ladies well! Thank you to all of our generous Giving Tuesday sponsors!
We introduced “Laney’s Story” , a virtual experience that offers the chance to “step into the shoes” of someone who has experienced sexual exploitation.
We ended the year with the delivery of our Christmas Outreach gifts. Thank you to everyone who donated!
As we end our year, we look towards 2021 with lots of good things on the horizon. Wishing you and your family safe and happy holidays from the Peace Promise family!
