Frequently Asked Questions
Visit our auction website and sign up for an account. Bidding takes place between noon on Monday April 5, 2021 and closes on Sunday April 11, 2021 at 8 pm. It will be open 24/7, until the event closes.
Invoices for all winning bids will be sent at the close of the auction. Payments must be made on the website and we can accept credit cards, debit cards, and Apple Pay. Unfortunately, we won't be able to process cash payments for this year's auction. We ask that invoices be paid within 48 hours of the close of the auction or the item will go to the next highest bidder.
Items are available by pickup. They can be picked up at the Mechanicsburg Brethren in Christ Church lobby (1050 S York St Mechanicsburg, PA 17055) between 10 am - 6:00 pm between Monday April 12 - Tuesday April 13. While we ask that you do so if you are able to pick up your item on these dates; however, if there is an obstacle that would hinder you from picking up your item, we can arrange for a different pickup time or have a volunteer deliver your item. It’s also fine if you send a representative to pick up your item. Just let us know and we will make a note of it. E-tickets are denoted in the item description and they will be sent by email to the winning bidder at the close of the auction. The winning bidder must pay for item in full before pickup.
A proxy bid allows you to enter the maximum amount you're willing to spend with the goal of winning the item at the lowest possible price. The system will bid for you, up to your maximum proxy bid amount, as additional bids are entered on the item. It will only increase your bid as additional bids are made on that item. This means you can enter what you are willing to spend on an item and don’t have to watch it as closely. To enter a proxy bid, enter your maximum bid amount, click the Proxy Bid button, and then submit your bid.
We know this is confusing because the format is entirely new (for us too!). While our silent auction typically takes place at the banquet, with the event being virtual, the auction will also be virtual, but they are not the same. While they are running at the same time, the auction is not exclusive to the event (although we will preview some of the items during the event). However, anyone can bid whether they plan to attend the event or not.
Yep, they sure can! Feel free to share the auction (we very much appreciate that!).
